Orthodontic correction of a deformed mandible:
This is the case of a 22-year-old male patient with an abnormality in his right mandible. The surgeon plans for an orthognathic surgery to put a PSI at the right mandible. Using the pre-processing app MedViewer, 804 images for analyses are selected and 400 images are processed. The surgeon annotated the outline of the implant on the digital surgical planning app ENHANCE. Using SCIPP, an image analysis tool, 3D computer models of the mandible are created. Based on the annotation and consultation with our consultant surgeons or implant designers, implants are designed and modified in the digital implant shape, and manufactured using the metal 3D printer.
